This image began as a personal meditation on “release and letting go” during the first week of the Corona Virus Pandemic in March of 2020. I started each icon by erasing from a large black dot that filled the page. I discovered each image by subtracting as a sculptor does from a block of stone. The process was largely subconscious- doodling - but it stood for something larger that I felt society was going through by being forced to step off the proverbial treadmill. For many it represented an opportunity to flip the script on the never ending need to consume and “Get”, and instead focus on the release of what no longer served our best interests. This is an example of the healing principals of creativity at work- and the need for art in our lives. I continue to practice this meditation of “letting go” to achieve.
